Patient Info
This is an example of finesse in rhinoplasty. This patient did not wish to have a major change to the nose but simply wished to reduce the bump on the dorsum or over the bridge of the nose and raise up the columellar hang/show at the bottom of the nose. She additionally wished to have a slight deprojection or movement of the tip in toward the face to reduce the prominence, and to reduce the amount that the tip drooped with smiling. We were able to achieve our goals while maintaining her natural appearance and preventing an "operated" look. Her after-pictures shown here are from one to two months postoperatively, and we expect her to have further refinement in the appearance over the 12 months after her surgery, particularly in the area just above the tip which is slightly swollen at this point.
It is important to keep in mind that not all noses require major changes and the patient’s degree of satisfaction can be quite high with only 1 to 2 mm of change in a few key places in the nose.
