Scope of Practice
The present scope of Dr. Donath’s practice is limited to cosmetic surgery of the head and neck which includes:
- hair restoration surgery,
- rhinoplasty (nasal surgery),
- facial rejuvenation surgery (facelifts and eyelid lifts), and
- minimally invasive and non-surgical treatments for appearance enhancement.
Surgery is performed in our fully equipped surgery center and you will return home the same day. Our surgery center has met nationally recognized standards for quality health care and offers a measure of privacy and cost effectiveness not possible in a hospital. In addition to Dr. Donath, there is an associate surgeon and a full operating room staff. Many procedures can be done under local anesthesia. General anesthesia, when indicated, is administered by skilled, experienced anesthetists.
The consultation will evaluate your areas of concern and work with you towards achieving your goals. Our video computer imager may be used in the consultation to show your anticipated results. Following analysis of your features, health, and lifestyle, Dr. Donath will provide you with a highly individualized surgical plan and answer such questions as…”How will I look after surgery?”…”Will I have scars or other marks from surgery?”…”When can I return to work?” and “What will it cost?”
A modest consultation fee, which can be applied toward your surgery, is charged for your first visit. The consultation is with Dr. Donath. Many clinics offer no-charge consultation, but often this is with a non-physician. These counselors -or patient care coordinators- are usually well informed and should be able to give you good information, but they cannot substitute for the judgment of an experienced surgeon.
Charges for Surgical Services
After a consultation, a quote is given and is good for one year. Our quotes include all costs: pre-operative tests, anesthesia, facility charges, the services of our staff, and medication. You are encouraged to make cost comparisons. In comparing, be sure you determine the total of all costs related to the surgery.
A deposit is required at the time the surgery is scheduled in order to hold a specific date for you. The balance is due at the time of your pre-operative appointment. For your convenience, we accept MasterCard, VISA, American Express, and Discover Card.
Cosmetic surgery is rarely covered by insurance. Many insurance policies, however, may pay for nasal surgery and the removal of injury-related scars. We will file your insurance paperwork to help you receive all entitled reimbursements. In selected cases, we will accept assignment of payment directly from your insurance company with pre-authorization.
Available Monday through Wednesday from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Closed Thursday through Sunday.
Out-of-town patients: Our staff can help you with advice for travel and hotel accommodations. We are 15 minutes away from Cincinnati International Airport. If you are unaccompanied, we can make arrangements for personalized post-operative room and board with one of our experienced nurses for a reasonable additional charge.
