Dysport & Botox Cincinnati, OH (Dayton)
Botox in Cincinnati, Ohio
Botox cosmetic is a sterile, purified protein known as botulinum toxin type A that may be injected beneath the skin to temporarily soften or eliminate the appearance of certain wrinkles and signs of aging. Botox injections may be used to treat forehead creases, brow furrows and crow’s feet. These types of wrinkles are caused by specific facial expression muscles and their repeated creasing of the skin. By injecting Botox into the muscle, the muscle is temporarily weakened or paralyzed, thus reducing or eliminating previous skin creasing and prohibiting new skin creasing.
By reducing or improving the wrinkle or crease, patients are left with a more youthful and rejuvenated appearance.

What is Dysport?
Dysport is considered one of the popular alternatives to BOTOX. Though considered as an alternate solution to it, Dysport and BOTOX do the same thing, essentially freezing the muscle activity between your eyebrows and other treatment areas. Dysport reduces the appearance of glabella lines or “frown lines” (the area between your eyebrows) which are noticeable when making a frowning expression. Dysport is used to treat moderate or severe cases, however, and shouldn’t be used on a patient with mild facial lines. Our experts can help you determine the severity of your fine lines and to see if Dysport is right for you.
Individuals who are looking to improve the appearance of forehead creases, brow furrows and/or crow’s feet may be good candidates for either our Botox or Dysport treatment. As with other types of facial cosmetic surgery, patients should be in good health and have realistic expectations for the outcome. It’s important that patients understand that Botox injections cannot completely or permanently remove facial wrinkles.
The treatment is typically administered in the office setting with several tiny injections directly into the specific muscles. The treatment takes just a few minutes to perform. Recovery is minimal and most patients are able to immediately return to work and other normal activities. Some minor irritation, redness, bruising or swelling can occur, though these side effects of Botox will fade within several hours. While it may take several days before the full effect is seen, results will last an average of three to six months.
