Today I saw a patient who is now about six months out from her revision rhinoplasty (nose reshaping) and has also undergone fat transfer to the face and hands, hair restoration to the forehead hairline to move this forward as well as laser resurfacing. It is always gratifying to see patient’s like this, particularly as she had three prior nose reshaping surgeries done elsewhere and each time previously she was left dissatisfied. At this time, however, she states that she is very pleased with the natural appearance of her nose and the fact that she no longer has the irregularities that made herself so self-conscious about her nose. She is also ecstatic about her cheeks, as she states that she did not realize how much of a difference filling the cheeks would make in rejuvenating her face. We talked about the fact that most people do not realize that fat transfer to the cheeks (volume lift SM to the cheeks) can have such a dramatic impact and that this is simply not achieved with traditional face lifting procedures done by other doctors.
She also shared with me the fact that her daughter was concerned about her having multiple procedures done, thinking that she would lose her identity and become unnatural looking but she is very happy to report that her daughter now states she can see exactly why she had these procedures done and thinks she looks fantastic. In fact, many acquaintances think she changed her hairstyle and that is why she looks so great. I told her that this is the best compliment we can receive, as she looks so natural that most people would not believe that she had these procedures done.
