Mini Necklift
The mini necklift is a less invasive necklift procedure which can improve the appearance of the neck. During the surgery, vertical neck bands are removed and excess neck skin is tightened. Incisions for the mini neck lift are less extensive than those for a traditional neck lift and result in shorter surgery and recovery times as well as decreased bruising and swelling. The result is a more youthful and flattering jaw line and neck angle with less downtime.
Individuals who are looking to improve loose skin and banding of the neck without the downtime associated with a traditional necklift may be good candidates for a mini necklift. Patients should also be in good physical, have realistic expectations for the outcome, and understand the limitations of the mini necklift as the procedure cannot produce the same dramatic results as a full necklift. The surgery is often ideal for younger patients with less extensive sagging and banding of the neck. During your consultation, Dr. Donath will help you to decide if the mini necklift is right for you.
Local anesthesia with sedation may be used for the mini necklift. Incisions are typically smaller than for a traditional necklift and may be located behind the ears and/or under the chin. Working through the incisions, the neck muscles may be altered and excess skin removed. The overall recovery, including swelling and bruising are less, than after a traditional necklift. Most patients are able to return to work after one week's time, though rigorous activities may be prohibited for a longer period of time.
