Q-What is Botox?
A-Botox is a sterile purified protein that may be used as an injection to temporarily soften or eliminate wrinkles caused by facial expression muscles. Botox can improve the appearance of forehead creases, crow's feet and brow furrows by temporarily weakening the muscle. The result is a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.

Q-How does Botox work?
A-Once injected into the muscle, Botox temporarily weakens the muscle activity, reducing previous skin creasing while also prohibiting new skin creasing.

Q-Is Botox right for me?
A-If you are looking to improve the appearance of forehead creases, brow furrows and/or crow's feet and are physically healthy and realistic in your expectations, then Botox may be right for you. Patients much understand that Botox cannot result in complete or permanent removal of facial wrinkles. Q-What happens at the consultation for Botox?
A- During the consultation for Botox, Dr. Donath will meet with you to examine your face, discuss your goals, and take a thorough medical history. He will explain the technique, the risks and the costs and address any questions or concerns that you may have.

Q-Where is the Botox procedure performed?
A-The Botox injection is typically performed in the office setting.

Q-How is the Botox procedure performed?
A-Several tiny injections of Botox are directly administered into the targeted muscles, a process which takes just minutes to complete.

Q-How long is the procedural time for Botox?
A-Botox treatment takes just minutes to complete.

Q-Does the Botox injection involve much pain?
A-Patients may experience some minor irritation at the injection site, though this tends to fade within just a few hours.

Q-What is the recovery from the Botox injection like?
A-There is little recovery or downtime associated with Botox treatment, though some minor irritation, redness, bruising and swelling may be present at the injection site for a few hours. Most patients are able to immediately return to work and other normal activities. The results can be seen in full within several days after treatment and last an average of three to six months.

Q-When will I be able to resume work after my Botox injection?
A-Work and other normal activities can typically be resumed right after Botox treatment.

Q-How long do the results of Botox last?
A-The results of Botox treatment last about three to six months for most patients.
